One thing they have in common?
About Featured Females
If there is one thing I could do all day everyday – besides drinking coffee and eating donuts – is be a cheerleader for my fellow females in biz.
Take a look at those I have featured so far below and give them a follow on social media, check out their services, or maybe even reach out to start a new friendship! BAM.
They range from just starting with an idea to veterans of the biz world. No matter where you are in your biz journey – it is not too small or too big.

Owner | Jewelry Maker
For the past 10 years, I’ve worked intimately with clients to custom-create wearable representations of their most important relationships: necklaces featuring their children’s or significant other’s fingerprints, keychains with their dog’s nose or paw. Each piece of heirloom-quality jewelry is handcrafted with love, just for you.
Realtor | Lifestyle Blogger
I didn’t love working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for the foreseeable future in a job without a lot of pay and without a lot of opportunity to grow, so I began to explore what I might be able to do for a career where my work time could be flexible. Real Estate came as a very organic suggestion from my fiance. So I decided to pursue real estate alongside blogging and various other means of making money on the internet.
Owner | Computer IT
Samantha started the company on a shoestring budget while still a part-time student during the Great Recession and grew it over the next 9 years to one of the foremost companies in her service area. She is recognized as an expert in her field of small business IT, and has serviced clients in industries from law, to health care, to building materials. Her passion is helping people change technology from a stumbling block to a useful tool they can use to improve their lives and businesses.
Owner | Moxy Loft
After working in the social service field for ten years, I left everything I knew when a handsome soldier swept me off my feet. Fast forward five years, marriage, three moves, two dogs, and two babies to being a full time stay at home Momma Bear. After doing some serious soul searching, I felt in my heart that being home with my sons and forming this initiative is what I needed to do and Moxy Loft was finally created!
Conversational Intelligence Coach
Nicole Devereaux is on a mission to connect people one powerful conversation at a time. Her favorite activity is hosting a diverse group of not-yet-friends around her dinner table. Nicole turned 40 in July 2019 and celebrated by raising $40,000 to give away to 8 different organizations!
A reporter in her early career, Shannon was trained to connect to audiences through story telling. A transition to politics, created a deeper connection to words through key messaging, spin doctoring, and speech writing. It was only a matter of time before the business world discovered her gifts – one request to manage a crisis became a request to manage a reputation became a request to manage an entire brand from web design to client experience.
Owner | Everyday Balloons & Lightning Bug Gift Co
Local artists Becki Hollen & Chris Bencivenga are designers and printmakers who met in school in Edinboro, and started their own art/design company Everyday Balloons in Pittsburgh in 2011.⠀“In Pittsburgh, there were tons of options for local pride type shirts and we didn’t see much of that here. Since we have design backgrounds and are printmakers, we decided to make some ourselves.”⠀The couple established Lightning Bug Gift Co. as a new brand for their local items, focusing on stickers, accessories, artwork, t-shirts, and other gifts that celebrate Pennsylvania.
I found out about Virtual Assistants and the HUGE impact they have on businesses and thought, “Yes, I can totally do this!” The universe heard my struggles and helped to push me towards this path. I now help businesses by managing their social media, scheduling, updating their websites, logo designs, branding and anything they need me to do. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in IT and have found that to help me in this career path as well.
Owner | Wildfire
I am launching a clothing and accessories store, called Wildfire, this fall in Martinsburg! My store also offers eco-friendly alternatives to make it easier to live a low waste lifestyle. For the past 2 years, I worked in a local boutique and fell in love with business. The current owner is moving down south and I was presented with the opportunity to start a business of my own. I just turned 20 and I love that my business is an investment toward my future. I have a lot of energy, passion, and love for this community!
Owner | Photographic Memories
At Photographic Memories, my real passion is getting people to have real, tender moments in front of the camera – and making parents and couples teary-eyed with the results. After teaching art in a public school system for over 7 years and simultaneously photographing weddings for family and friends for over 9 years, I decided my artist efforts would be best suited in helping families and individuals hold onto their real life moments of dignity and emotion. In my sessions, I purposefully create carefree situations where you and your future spouse or your family can shine brightly.
